Unfinished interview

Abstract

S.S. Alymov’s interview with the philosopher, ethnographer and historian Yu.I. Semenov discusses the biography of this scholar. It is unfinished, as the continuation of the conversation was prevented by the death of this outstanding scientist. Semenov talks in detail about his childhood, his interest in history and his development as a philosopher and specialist in the history of primitive society at the universities of Krasnoyarsk and Tomsk. The interview ends with the story of the defense of his dissertation at the Institute of Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the publication of his book «The Rise of Humanity».
